NOTES
This film features a number of youngsters diving off a bridge into the water below. Dara Friedman interviewed about 100 kids and asked them what they liked to do most and if they could do anything, what would it be. The common answers were “to sleep” and “to fly,” respectively. Friedman merged these two activities to create the concept of “sleep-flying.” The artist uses repeating imagery for hypnotic effect while alerting the viewer to the differences of each body, each jump, each flight.
