NOTES
Through video, Shannon Kennedy explores bodies moving in relation to one another, connecting, disconnecting and reconfiguring on a minute scale. Kennedy presents three basic life forms - yeast, algae, and worms. Their motions range from slow flotation to contortionist twists. The activity is presented through the technology of a fluorescent microscope and transposed into massive scale through projections that envelope the viewer. Derived from the most basic components of living matter, Kennedy's images are both abstract and specific, revealing infinite beauty in the smallest components of our everyday world.
