NOTES
The scalloped edge of this dish, the wave and rock motif around the rim, and the ribbon encircling the flowers near their base are elements inspired by Chinese blue and white porcelain. The potters of Iznik in modern Turkey reinterpreted these motifs and combined them with gracefully curving flowers and a central cypress tree.
